EZEILO COMMENDS IMMOWA

Enugu State Deputy Governor, Hon. (Mrs.) Cecilia Ezeilo, has commended the Immigration Officers Wives Association for their contributions to environmental protection, pledging support for the Association.

She gave the commendation when she received in the audience the national president of IMMOWA, Hajiya Mariam Isah Jere, who led a delegation of Immigration officers wives on a courtesy visit to her office on Tuesday, March 23.

Ezeilo appreciated the efforts of IMMOWA in preserving nature, saying, “I appreciate your efforts in the preservation of nature. The climate change and it’s effect world over ,I say a big thanks for this thoughtful feat.”

Earlier, the national president of the association, Hajiya Mariam Isah Jere said that they were on a courtesy visit to intimate the Deputy Governor on their events holding on Wednesday, March 23. She said that they were going to carry out three projects, tree planting, building of a hall and inauguration of the state command of the association.

She expressed happiness at the warm reception given to them by the Deputy Governor, saying, “I have gone to so many states ,but I feel honoured to be here. When I was told I was coming to see you, I lacked words to say. I believe you have good rapour with them .I am handing them (IMMOWA ,Enugu command) into the hands of God and into your hands. I believe you will hold them well and I know by the grace of God, you will do it for us”, she said.

Jere, announced Mrs Ezeilo as the “grand patron” of IMMOWA, Enugu state command Speaking, Chairperson , IMMOWA, Enugu command, ,Lady(Mrs) Bibian Olumba officially invited the Deputy Governor to their inauguration and handed over the association’s Enugu state chapter uniform to the Deputy Governor, through the national president.

In an interview, Mrs Olumba explained that they decide to embark on tree planting campaign because trees help to shade an environment, places. “Flower trees and economic trees beautify the environment”.

On her part, the national provost , Mrs Stella Anugwa, said that the inauguration of the association will make all the Immigration officers’ wives in Enugu state to know that the association exists and to join them. She said that the association has been in existence but will be officially inuagurated in Enugu state,

“We pray that the women commission here will be able to involve them in their activities because most of the time if you are in a state when your association is not recognized, most of the activities in that state, they don’t recognize you, that’s why we want to come and inaugurate it officially tommorow and do other things like tree planting”, Anugwa said.

The national provost, who was visibly happy at the reception given to them by the Deputy Governor said the national president of IMMOWA crowned her (Deputy Governor) as the “grand patron of IMMOWA”.

Other officials at the visit included, the Zonal Coordinator, Mrs Nkechi Asogwa, , Vice chairperson, Lady Chiebonam Mmaduka, Public Relations Officer (P.R.O),Barr. Ifeatu Chukwumba, Assistant Secretary, Ngozi Ezoh, Mrs Kate Ezua, treasurer, Mrs Christable Adama, Welfare, Mrs Ngozi Iloagbara, provost, Mrs Miriam Esoune, State secretary, Mrs Sharron Okonkwo, and Chief Helen Okolie, members.
